I wonder if using mouthwash like Listerine ( for saliva test) or swabbing your nose with alcohol ( for nasal test) can give you a false negative on a covid test.

“I wonder if using mouthwash like Listerine!”

During the 1918 Flu Epidemic, my FIL was one of 9 siblings.

His widowed mother made all 9 kids from the very young ones to late teens, gargle with Listerine before coming inside.

They slept outside, one per blanket. They used those blankets to sit on, eat on and to sleep on.

They all survived and used Listerine when they had a sore throat, sniffles or a slight fever never had the 1918 flu.

Some would never use Listerine for the rest of their lives.

My FIL used it whenever, he felt a sore throat or sniffles for the rest of his life.

All of them made it into their 70’s. They joked that Listerine was the wonder drug for them during the Spanish Flu.

I saw something about students ‘cheating the COvid test’ with lemon juice or some other acidic compound. I guess if you as a student are diagnosed, then you ‘get’ to stay home from school for awhile.
