I wonder if the video was a marketing after thought, and the recording and the video were created at different times?
I saw that video recently and was struck by how long ago it looked. All videos from the early MTV era look like they’re from another time but for some reason that one really stands out. I think because it’s from the absolute earliest of the early era, even slightly pre MTV as you mentioned, and also all the candid low-budget location shots with the old cars.
