Composed some of the greatest movie scores ever. My favorite would be "Blade Runner". His music was used for the science series "Cosmos".

Incredible visionary genius.

I liked his The Friends of Mr. Cairo, a tribute to 1940s detective noir films.

“Chariots of Fire” hit #1 on the Billboard chart. I am not sure if an instrumental piece accomplished that again.

I liked his The Friends of Mr. Cairo, a tribute to 1940s detective noir films. With Jon Anderson of Yes, on vocals.

Just goes to show you don’t have to be able to read ‘fly poo on paper’ (music notation) to make great, memorable music

Personally, his best stuff was for Bladerunner, but that just me.
Still listen to some of his fantastic music even to this day. He will be missed.

Would that be Joel Cairo (a fairy), played by Peter Lorre, in The Maltese Falcon?

He also wrote
Hymne which was used in a Gallo wine commercial in the early '80s. It took his work outside of the movie theaters to the mainstream public.
