Hondas & Toyotas are expensive but very reliable for the most part.

Toyota's last because they are underpowered and the high throttle lag pretty much guarantee's you aren't stressing the engine or suspension. QC is also high at both companies. Honda is really an engine manufacturer first, and a car maker second, just like BMW, but unlike BMW, Honda focuses on QC and has better manufacturing practices which equals a long last car. Honda also lags in features (electronics) compared to most other auto makers which equals less problems on the road.

My 2018 Avalon has plenty of pep (~290 hp,~270 lb torque). I have gotten into the habit of pressing "Sport" whenever I get into the car, and that takes care of the high-throttle lag. It also does NOT have CVT, which is a long-term reliability issue. Not enough headroom, trunk is too small, but U.S. automakers stopped making full sized non-luxury sedans, so Avalon it is. Avalon was always the forgotten step-child, so it got a lot of the gizmos later than Camry. I'm okay with that.

Of course they stopped making them, but I won't be buying any new cars after seeing what's due in 2026.
