Surface temperatures in the South Atlantic basin, where most tropical Atlantic storms develop, typically max out at or about 30 degrees C every summer. It can’t really get any warmer than that in the open ocean because of increased evaporation.

and also isn’t it just as likely that less air pollution would mean less heat ESCAPES the surface, rather than more hear REACHES the surface?
