Age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16, so I guess she is charged with abusing her position over students.
No, teachers are considered to be in loco parentis in PA, so consent isn't possible. If she really wanted to have sex with this kid, she needed to quit her job, or transfer or something. What she did was stupid, even if you don't think it was a crime.

I would wonder what her husband thought of the liaison with a 17 year old girl? The teacher is nearly six feet tall. Is the 17 year old a student female athlete?
