eg....a woman gets raped and immediately people want to know WHY she was out that late, what she was wearing, how many boyfriends does she have, and finally WHAT DOES SHE LOOK LIKE to determine if her claims are valid....

Unfortunately, people (women included) are not so scrupulous as to never make false claims of victimhood, so in crimes in which there are often no independent witnesses, or indisputable evidence that a crime has even taken place, people have to be skeptical, and actually ask such questions in an attempt to determine if the claims are valid.
The alternative is either to “believe all women” (even the liars), or “believe no women” (even those telling the truth). I think you’d agree that neither of those alternatives is a very good one.
That is heinous, however...
Are we to believe all women, all the time?
People are know to lie when it is in their own interest. A close friend was charged with rape when the girl he had been dating - who arranged the “event” - had regrets after the fact and accused him of rape...two weeks after the fact.
It seems that her sorority sister had dated my friend in high school and there was bad blood between them. “You had sex with HIM?” and in her defense, she changed the circumstances of the evening and made it all HIS idea. In the retelling, he became more and more aggressive until, two weeks after the fact, her and her friends had turned him into a rapist and she filed a report with the police. Fortunately for him she had left him notes about her plans for the evening and how excited she was. There were also witnesses to their “courtship” leading up to the night. Between all that, the charges were dropped.
It didn’t end there. This was a large, popular sorority and they stood by their sister. If he had a class with one of the sisters, they would refer to him - in class - as “Rapist”. He ended up transferring out at the end of the semester.
To reiterate my point, people lie. Justice should be a search for the truth.
