Never going to end because Parents will go along to get along
I don’t have kids, but I sympathize greatly with parents on this. Greatly.
As someone who was forced against my will to make a choice about vaccination in the workplace that I thought about for months to the point I was obsessively turning it over and over in my head and unable to sleep, I can easily understand how terrible and psychically disruptive and destructive a choice about getting a child vaccinated to attend school would be. It is an order of magnitude worse.
Because of that, I don’t think of it necessarily in terms of “go along to get along” because that makes it sound too easygoing and lazy, in my opinion.
I think there are parents who agonize how to approach this, because for them, there may be no good answer.
Masking is one thing. Vaccination is something else altogether. And they are nearly joined at the hip in some respects.
It is one thing to say your child must wear a mask or they cannot come to school, and a lot of parents might do that simply because the alternative is too invasive and disruptive in too many ways. Injection with these mRNA vaccines for children is here, or nearly here.
That choice is going to come. And many Leftist parents will gleefully cart their kids off to get that shot, and a good number of Conservative parents will subject their children to it as well, though they won’t celebrate it.
Think of that. What if your kid developed acute myocarditis from that injection? What if they died? How could one recover from that?
Sigh. It would be a wonderful option to homeschool, but not every parent is able or cut out to homeschool. And not everyone can afford to send their kid to a school that offers alternatives to masking and injections.
This breaks my heart. Because it is the future.
