In war, truth is the first casualty -- Aeschylus (circa 500BC)
This current war in Ukraine is a case study validating this principle. On both sides.
The most recent example I've seen comes courtesy of General Barry McCaffrey:
And then unquestionably echoed by the media (after all, who'd dare question the analysis of a 4-star general?)
I'm not simping for either side here. But please, before you post some claim on either side, make SURE you know it's correct. And before you start believing anything you see or hear, even with photos or videos, check, double check, and triple check.
This is the first war where hardcore information warfare is the primary strategic weapon. Be very, very careful.
@Williams
Information” isn’t information unless you prove it.
If it comes from libtard outlets like CNN, MSNBC, etc, and they use anonymous sources about this or that from Russia being blown up, or Putin wants to do something, etc, etc, those are assertions, not information.
Prove them. If you can’t but still want to report it you are no better than Rachel Maddow.
That's the point though, isn't it?
There are a lot a gullible people here who haven't figured that one out.
Ghost of Kyiv anybody?
Here's my basic rule: Russia lies. Always has. Predates this by decades Putin gets great pleasure from screwing with people and countries not only for the enrichment of himself and his fellow oligarchs, but I think just for fun. I'm supposed to believe what he says?
on the other side, the people pushing the Ukraine POV are the same ones who pushed Russiagate, vaccine mandates, lockdowns, suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story, "mostly peaceful protests" ok and the epitome of patriotic political action but Jan 6 is an insurrection that will destroy the country, blah, blah, blah. I'm supposed to believe a damned thing coming out of their pieholes?
Unless I can positively verify something, I believe NEITHER side.

Here is another I stumbled upon today. Zooms way in with troop dispositions and unit numbers, in case you are interested. I have only watched the latest one.

This guy does a daily update using maps from Russian and western sources.
I think he is from Belarus, so a bit of a Russian slant (keep that in mind) but at least somewhat balanced. I enjoy it as you get to see the overall context in X’s and O’s so to speak. Something that seems to be sorely lacking in this conflict.
Just listened to the latest Military Summary...good stuff.
