I’ll just say, this is a terrific start for a new ST series. It puts the ultra-woke boring whisperer-actors Discovery to shame just from the writing. Gag, there has never been such a poor ST series as Discovery. Picard started off interesting, but then became plodding and boring this second season, even with young Wesley Crusher returning as a Traveler/Watcher Chief.

Anyway, I love the characters being fleshed out in SNW—sassy Nurse Chapel, clever young Uhura, the legendary (but little known about) “Number One,” the earnest young Spock (and remember, he’s about 75 or so when he works for Capt. Kirk), and the new security Chief, La’an, who was a wonderful actress in The Expeanse (Beltalowada!). We’ll see if the new Chief Engineer is worthy of the alien-ness they’ve painted him with (Aenar). And it’s humorous taking the old middle aged white boy brown jump-suited Teleporter Chief Kyle and making him a young funny asian! And the Gorn are mentioned, and we all know that was such a cheesy TOS ep with Capt. Kirk fighting the lizard/dinosaur Gorn, so maybe they can improve on that, too!

The acting and writing are wonderful, so far, for ST:SNW. I hope it continues.

You know, I never even bothered to watch one episode. I could tell it stunk from a mile away. Just the canon-ruining reimaging of the Klingons, that was bad enough. Then they postulated FUNGI DRIVE??? And the ship would do cartwheels when warping?

Nonsense.
