You gotta hand it to conservatives – we get abused and dumped and generally treated like dishrags, but we never stop falling for the latest politician who is going to sweep us off our feet and make sweet, sweet political love to us. Yet maybe, instead of acting on our infatuations,----

I am 100% with Trump in 2024. I only meant to convey that I would accept DeSantis as a substitute if Trump was not an option. Also, DeSantis would have to want the job (POTUS) as well.
Mia Love-She was a winner. I had her down as Oren Hatch’s successor. Blew it-deserved. I think it’s the Mormonism. More proof you gotta watch out for them.
Scarboro. One June afternoon he announced he was quitting congress to ‘spend more time with his family’-effective in September when school starts. Lawyer-change positions on a dime=no core values.
I don't know if it's arrogance or narcissism, but when challenged, a lot of the politicians will try to finesse their way out with what they think is intellect or wit.
They wanna be liked. Rudy was likable but not liked. Just ask the blacks under ‘stop and frisk’. A real leader doesn’t care if his critics don’t like him. You don’t have to ask either.
Rudy was more than conservative enough. He was 67 years old when Mittens was nominated(63 when McCain got the nod). Pro choice? He would of gone looking for the next Alito. How do I know? I’d leadership-a missed opportunity. Would he have beaten the Kenyan? Probably not. It’s the pendulum swinging during the perfect storm. Think Perot, Buchanan in ‘92. Don’t forget read my lips.
Your post 13 was a nice bit of sorely-needed realism.
Too often our choices come down to Ivy-league, rich, country club lawyers...who in the end are nothing more than conduits that only feed the corp. oligarchs, those who'll cower and cave(to BLM,big-HOMO,Karen's)whatever...to protect their cash-flow/status.
....that has to change.
I'd happily take someone less educated, less wealthy, less CONNECTED(in other words...less compromised)who actually understands the average Jane/Joe and the sacrifices they made/continue to make...over some silver-spoon(or wanna-be)who's only thing is "go-along to get-along" while keeping "the master" happy.
That said, politics (in general) has become more about creating problems, less about creating solutions.
As such, it may no longer serve society(except elite)as a whole, and therefore it's power/influence should be greatly reduced.
To do that would require traditional conservatives/traditional liberals to put aside certain issues(no matter how passionate), and at least work together in pushing our political "leaders" towards implementing policies we(at least somewhat)agree on.
It has to start somewhere...our continued 50/50 split is getting us nowhere.
...while making our "overlords" stronger everyday(by design).
Rand Paul has my everlasting esteem.
Best way to stop falling in love with politicians is to stop voting. It’s ineffectual anyway, and the Demonrats are going to destroy the country anyway. Best to just get it over with.
Hi.
My Mom always told me to worship G-d, love your family and serve your country.
Nothing about politicians in there.

Indeed I once liked him
He is playing to his audience and paymasters now and has personal beef with Trump
Amnesty Senator Rubio is the poster child for that.
Pardon me. I didn’t realize that Schlichter’s article had already been posted or that Schlichter was a Uniparty Rino. Here all this time I thought he was a leading member of the Trump supporters.
Anyone believing any politician is perfect is delusional and that includes some of the best ones in my lifetime like Goldwater, Reagan and Ashbrook. It also includes Trump. Would you like someone to list some of his mistakes. We could start off with the vaccine fiasco and end with appointing the current head of the FBI with a whole bunch of others listed in between.
*Best way to stop falling in love with politicians is to stop voting.*
One problem-the Democrats don’t believe in the vote either.
I’ve always despise the cult of personality. I’m not impressed with celebrity. Couldn’t care less honestly. I’m not afraid to call out when a leader is wrong.
