Officers arrived at 8:30,
asked(!) everyone to leave, and were ignored by the "large group of kids". They left when they felt like it, at 10:00.
I think these "kids" know they have carte blanche, free to ruin everyone else's night, close down a mall, whatever.

I think these "kids" know they have carte blanche, free to ruin everyone else's night, close down a mall, whatever. Well, they’ve probably been raised to think they’re special, never being told “no,” and getting whatever they want by pitching a temper tantrum.
I’m glad kids were taught manners and respect when I was growing up and that we could go to the mall, carnivals, concerts, etc. without even thinking things like that might happen.

When I was a kid I freaked out and made them stop a Ferris Wheel. Almost did the same next time I rode, age about 35. It's a heights thing.
Not fear only, although that meter gets pinned too. The mind goes out whack, senses spinning. There is a strong pull towards the edge that feels physical. I have to crouch to lower my COG, I cling to any handhold like a vice.
I've thought about this my whole life. Why? Is there meaning? Today, now, looking at this post.. I got it.
Part of me wants to commit suicide. I'm not afraid of heights, I'm afraid of myself.
And you were unfortunate enough to be here during my epiphany, lol.

There was no police presence at the carnival before the fight per other local media reporting.
There will be from now on, but what the heck were they thinking?!
