“Social media are interactive digital channels that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, interests, and other forms of expression through virtual communities and networks.”
Sure sounds a lot like FR!
FR is most certainly a social media with very restrictive rules as to who gets to post. Much more restrictive than Twitter or Facebook.
Jim Robinson and company are quick to zot whoever they don’t deem desirable. Right?
I’ve had some of my posts yanked on several occasions.
Let’s not be blind to what we are and our own warts.
We’re basically an online “safe space” for people like us, on the right. And that’s perfectly fine, but let’s not pretend we’re not.
Among the most important things to know is to “know thyself”.
I think you stopped reading when you wanted to. The rest explains how FR is different. We don’t tie to each other here, merely respond. It’s not a *network* of users.
We post content to each other, but we don’t *follow* each other here or *like* each other’s posts.
If you want to define FR as social media, then I can’t stop you. It’s different though. It’s closer to a chat room from the old internet days than it is SM, at least IMHO.
