“No person should have any fear of stating such truths or protecting innocent human life.”

Good point. I will take it one step further. No one should have any fear of stating their beliefs truthfully - no matter what they are.

What I mean is that there are two parts of the abortion conversation that I find appalling.

1. That so many innocent unborn lives are being taken.

2. That the “conversation” about this tragedy is built around deception and denial. Reason is not prevailing - even in our highest court, which should be the guardian of reason.

The second part is almost more disturbing and more threatening to our Republic than the first part - for if it is impossible to have an honest debate, then self governance is impossible.

I have tried to have conversations with “pro-choice” people, and you simply can’t reason with them. You can’t get them to follow basic rules of debate. You can’t pin them down on even the most basic assumption: when life begins.

If you ask that question, you either get a lie or you get avoidance. Suddenly the subject is diverted to “who should pay for unwanted babies?” or “Why is it a man’s business what a woman does with her own body?”

These are diversions from the real questions at hand: “Is an unborn baby a human being or not?” and “How is taking an innocent unborn human’s life different than taking any other innocent human life?”.

It is impossible to get a straight and honest answer from these people - even in the highest court of the land, where presumably their job is to think straight and hold us all accountable to reason and truth.

And that is a big problem.

That’s how leftists “argue” about anything. Change the subject, non-sequiturs, and of course, ad hominem attacks (you’re racist!).

They have to do this because their positions are logically and morally indefensible.

Eventually they resort to violence as a final recourse. Nowadays that seems to be their first argument.

I’m sure someone at DU will think I’m racist for stating these facts.

What you say is true and I have observed the same.

A leftist will never tell you why they really take a position and try to convince you based on their sincerely held beliefs. Why? I believe it’s because a normal person would regard them as an evil and vile monster. And they know this.

In my mind, this means they are evil, and further, they themselves know it.

So they work to deceive us, which is why their arguments are so disjointed and shoddy. And no matter how many of these you run to ground with them, they never change their mind. Because we have never debated their true beliefs with them. And even if we had, I suspect we would discover their beliefs are faith based. And the exact opposite faith that most of us are familiar with.

Just a theory I’m pondering.

The French turned Notre Dame cathedral into the Temple of Reason in the 1793-1799 revolutionary period.

That didn’t work out, because rule by reason never does.
