I had a lump on the side of my neck that I wasn’t able to get checked for close to a year, turned out to be nothing serious. How many people who did indeed have serious problems (ie cancer, etc) put off or were forced to put off routine checks and cautionary checks throughout the Covid era?
Just went to a funeral for a coworker’s husband who had a cancerous squamous cell small lump on his cheek right before COVID hit. He couldn’t get in for surgery due to all surgeries/procedures canceled for 10-12months. When they were able to operate, squamous cancer had spread to his neck and chest. The had to remove 90 lymph nodes, do chemo, etc. He passed away last week after a long battle.
Sad so many people have died/ or will die due to hospitals and clinics closing down for COVID.
