McConnell hates Trump’s candidates like Dr. Oz. McConnell supported DAve McCormick in PA, but when he became radioactive, he moved to Barnette. She can’t win and McConnell would rather Schumer be in control than have Trump in control.
“Unacceptable” to McConnell is America First Trump Loyalists. But he cannot come out and say this. So he pretends he is protecting a Senate majority. In fact McConnell is trying to stack it with his guys. Trust Trump and the candidates he endorsed. That is all.

If McConnell is against Oz then that is a powerful reason to support him. Seriously. That doesn't mean Oz will be perfect but it's essential to break McConnell's grip on the party. If McConnell runs for reelection in 2026 a conservative candidate should run as an independent in the general to ensure he loses.
