What kid going through puberty “feels comfortable in his or her own body”? Strange new things are happening to that body, new things sprouting, hormones taking him or her on a roller coaster ride, odd growth spurts leaving that body temporarily out of proportion. No longer a child’s body, but not yet an adult’s. It’s a confusing and disorienting time as it is, and a time when many are painfully self-conscious.
Adolescence is a difficult enough journey without some teacher to insinuating the kid’s discomfort is because he or she is transgender. Sick.
