1) All computer files have enough metadata to tell exactly when they were downloaded to any particular device, and other pertinent data that can incriminate one or another person.
2) Never try to beat the cops at their own game. Even the local cops in small town Oklahoma watched Dragnet when they were kids. Separate two conspirators, interrogate the snot out of them, all day, and then when they stick to their story, Sergeant Friday and Officer Gannon switch over... “Okay, your buddy just told us all about how you two downloaded all that pr 0n. Why don’t you save yourself and give us the goods and we’ll make it go easy on you?”
Piece of pie.
I’ve heard the opposite. The father is assumed to be guilty and loses all visitation rights for months while the investigate a crime that didn’t happen.
Sure, the man is assumed guilty, but Prosecutors and LEO don’t have time to investigate and prosecute for a bruise or a scrape in a he said/she said case. The only guys I’ve seen prosecuted beat the living crap out of their wife.
If somebody doesn't want you any more, it hurts and is one of the worst things in life, but get past it for the sake of the children and find someone who does want you. Or find a hobby. Or get a dog.
