Joe Biden admitted to removing COVID relief from the package, stating on Monday that he was told it would delay action on the urgently needed Ukrainian aid, confirming that now COVID funds are being diverted to rush the $40 billion towards the Ukraine war.

Now COVID Funds Are Being Diverted To Rush $40 Billion To Ukraine War 1

After agreeing to reject a request for further COVID-19 related funding that they intended to merge, Congressional Democrats are pushing to rustle up $39.8 billion in additional Ukraine aid.

According to Reuters, the package, which exceeds President Joe Biden’s $33 billion proposal from April, could be voted on by the House as soon as Tuesday, with Senate Democrats signaling that they are ready to act quickly.

Biden on April 28 asked Congress for $33 billion to support Ukraine, including more than $20 billion in military assistance. That proposal was a dramatic escalation of U.S. funding for the war with Russia. read more

The new proposal includes an additional $3.4 billion for military aid and $3.4 billion in humanitarian aid, the sources said.-Reuters

Although bipartisan backing for emergency help to Ukraine has prevailed for weeks, disagreements about domestic funding for pandemic relief and whether or not stricter immigration controls should be included have slowed the procedure.

“We cannot allow our shipments of assistance to stop while we await further congressional action,” President Biden said in a statement, urging Congress to speed up the financing so he could approve within the next few days.

The concern arises after Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin pleaded for the funding in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and senior House Republican Kevin McCarthy, claiming that they will run out in two weeks.

“We need your help,” Austin and Blinken wrote, claiming that there was “only” $100 million left over from a presidential weapons authorisation (which required no congressional approval).

The letter says, “We expect to exhaust that authority no later than May 19, 2022,”

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters he was pleased the Ukraine assistance was decoupled from COVID-19 aid. He had advocated for a “clean” Ukraine bill repeatedly in speeches in the Senate.-Reuters

Senator Dick Durban, the second-ranking Democrat, was not pleased with the decision.

“It would have been so much better for us to protect the United States as well as worked to protect Ukraine,” Durban added, adding that dividing Ukraine funding from COVID-19 aid “doesn’t help. Putting those two together would have been a positive.”

Biden admitted to removing COVID relief from the package, stating on Monday that he was told it would delay action “on the urgently needed Ukrainian aid.”

Ukraine bought Biden. Biden does the bidding of Ukraine. Ukraine is deep-state central and Putin is addressing the threat on his border.

Billions of our money have already been sent to Ukraine. Anybody have the total so far?

How much more will the decrepit old fool send them to repay them for what they did for his family?

biden doesn’t care about Americans. He is actively doing all he can to bring this once-great country down.

He treats inflation like an external force that came into this country and made everything expensive. It’s his policies that are doing it. The end result of his policies is Venezuela.

“Nope, Poland already dedicated 25%of their budget.
That’s equivalent of about trillion US$ for US.
Many other European countries are spending similar amounts.
US is so far trailing!”

Wow! Got some links for that “giving” information?

Maybe we should have done $80 billion instead of $40 billion? We are such selfish cheapskates. /sarc

Who cares about the corrupt government of Ukraine?

People in the US are suffering and are holding on by a thread. Astronomical gas prices, baby formula shortages and ridiculous grocery prices. It’s enough to make one snap.

The corrupt, evil, illegitimate Xiden regime is pouring money into Ukraine while, at the same time, driving the middle class into bankruptcy. Do you not realize how horrid life in the US has become?

I’m tired of the “Ukraine first” cries from Bidenistas and Soros Puffers. How about “America First”?

Whatcha gotta remember is that spending on military hardware mostly stays right here at home——to, oh, say, Lockheed, General, Dynamics, Boeing, Northrup, Raytheon, and all their friends. Makes it a lot simpler to get the kickbacks to the right DNC types. One percent back to congress critters is more money than they’ve ever seen doncha know? Cost of doing bidness and all that. I remember Rickover holding up sub makers for trinkets to political wives: a ring here, a watch there, but man was he a piker?

Good point.

Only if they did something naughty in Ukraine and want Zelensky to keep it hidden.

They don’t need anymore covid shots. If someone wants to take the suicide vax, they can pay for it out of their own pocket.

Or are the drug companies blackmailing the current regime too.

You are lying.

Poland is a distant second. US is first.

So instead of $ being stolen by corrupt orgs in the US, it will fund corruption and death in Ukraine. With some funneled back to US politicians no doubt.

Yep!
That's why Pelosi took the time to fly over there.
She need to set up her kick back account.

Nope, I am comparing help to Ukraine relative to national budget.
40 Billions is a drop in the bucket for the USA budget, country 10x larger than Poland and quite richer.

It’s okay, though. The $40 billion is under the lend-lease program so Ukraine has to pay it back. It only took England until 2006 to make their final payment from WWII. 🤣

Are we next door to Ukraine like Poland is? Of course they’re spending money to help Zelenskyy. It’s in their national interest. That’s not the case in America...unless there’s something secret about Ukraine that Americans aren’t privy to.

That is irrelevant. The US is in deep debt and Americans are suffering. Ukraine is a European problem, not ours.

“US is suffering?”

They are problems with inept government, but who is really suffering? Almost all the people on the Earth would love to suffer like this!
If we let Putin keep going, soon Russia would be on our border. Fighting with Russia over Detroit? Then maybe you would say, we should suffer little bit more then?!
