I disagree with this.
It's a stupid, mean spirited film that didn't need to be made.
"Rarely do you see a film where the left is shown for who they are..." What, do you think any of us will forget who the left is or what they represent? I don't need a silly, ugly Hollywood crap fest to remind me what we're all dealing with.
Yep, this is just my opinion, your opinion may vary. But my advice is to avoid this film, let it die in the discount bin of your local wally world or on the vine on your streaming service.

It wasn’t intended to be a conservative movie. In fact, its release was delayed and limited because of a conservative protest that this would encourage violence against conservatives.
If the message comes across showing the conservatives fairly, that speaks well to the movie-makers for being honest and wanting to make an engaging story.

I thought it was delayed because of the Dayton and El Paso shootings? Having a movie with that much gun play in the wake of shootings was considered a bad look. But I do remember both sides being kind of riled up over it.
I saw the movie. It was "meh". I'd forgotten about it until mentioned here. Typical B movie I thought. Maybe kind of along the lines as The Purge. I can't say I remember it a whole lot. IIRC, it basically exaggerated the stereotypical characteristics of both ends of the political spectrum. Smarmy know-it-all libs got to hunt down MAGA folks like dogs, gun totin' MAGA folks (that survived) got to recover from their initial bludgeoning and get their win in the end.
I'd rank it slightly above Sharknado and slightly below The Purge. All of which belong in the same cheesy "don't take it seriously" or "watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon" category.

Yep.... and they would’ve gotten clear if not for choosing the wrong woman.
Best line in the movie. IMHO, You done eff’d up now.

What happens then? Please don't worry about "spoilers!"

The irony is that many on the right took a kneejerk stance against this movie when the trailers first came out, because they assumed that it would be celebrating people attacking “deplorables”, but actually it was obvious that the movie’s message was the exact opposite.

The one on the left. I’ve never even heard of the one on the right. Why would they take the same name?

agree, was quite entertaining and the protagonist was actually somewhat believable rather than super hero type.
To: BEJ
Saw it a while ago on HULU or somewhere. I recall the hoopla and the postponement given a recent actual event which I cannot recall w/o research what that was.
True, the Conservatives win, mildly entertaining, but nothing special.

No, they never rewrote it as far as I know, they just delayed the release a little bit.

“Why would they take the same name?”
Probably because a name as simple as ‘The Hunt’ can’t be trademarked, so if you can release a quick low budget film of that name, you can piggyback on the more well known film’s profits.

The first one on the left.

I still see the worth in it because the stereotypes of the left are never seen in a bad light in Hollywood movies. It’s always some horseshit about dumb, toothless hillbillies, greedy country club Republicans, smelly Walmart crowds (Peter Strzok’s remark), etc. So this is a breath of fresh air. Yeah, we conservatives know about this, but does the world know about it? This might open their eyes a bit. And it might give conservative women more confidence.
