You're obviously a shallow thinker because you makes statements without any reference to history or facts. The French monarchy's first involvements in the Revolutionary War was a "proxy war" and remained so for most of the Revolutionary War and then they got directly involved.
The Vietnam War started as a proxy war and ended up killing 50,000 American boys and the domestic backlash here at home resulted in the cultural revolution that we are living under now, explain that away.
Modern history is replete with US-Russian proxy wars, without expanding into direct US-Russian conflicts. In fact in Korea, Russian pilots flew combat missions against US planes. In Vietnam, Russian crews manned anti-aircraft batteries, shooting down US pilots. I find it hilarious that you are forced to reference the US revolution as a proxy war that spirals out of control ignoring the many modern subsequent conflicts.
Also, I notice a complete lack of alternative solutions. It seems surrendering to Russian aggression is your automatic, fallback reaction.
