I wonder where Deidre will be working next year?
Prison for university bureaucracy is a great idea.
Rutgers gonna Rutgers...
Retired now. In my technical career at about the 8 year mark, I strongly considered an MBA to fast track a change from pure technical to management. At that time, the cost of graduate level classes was far far less than what undergrad $$$/credit hour are now. The rate of return for the investment was very tempting. In the end though, I decided against it though because I could not sufficiently handle the reduced income for a couple of years. Just my personal circumstances, young family and all that.
Over time, the MBA degree IMHO has deservedly earned a negative reputation in some circles including mine. Short term profits at the expense of long term stability and growth seems to to be the emphasis.
$$$ inflation for college education is insane and for grad level is mind boggling.
Excellent article. Thanks for posting. All of this needs to be common knowledge and ASAP. Too often I hear that grad school is the “new undergraduate.” No. No ROI.
My daughter saved up and paid for her graduate degree with zero loans
No has the job she’s always dreamed of
A Masters is now required because an undergraduate degree isn’t worth what a high school diploma was prior to 1970.
