Even before they're teens.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

And no doubt the book comes with liberal atheist agendas.
Wow, I read that in HS and don’t all thi cool stuff
Yup

We, too, struggled to put eight kids through Catholic schools.
Today, they thank me for it.
Sounds like a cheesy, overwrought Latino soap opera.
Why don’t teenagers read Shakespeare, Dickens, or Thackeray anymore?

This kind of abuse of young, impressionable minds has got to be fully explored by behavioral professionals to determine if there are any harmful effects from the use of these materials.
The only problem is that some of these professionals are wacko as the materials in question.
Where can we find rational mental/emotional health professionals that we can trust? I’m having a lot of questions about how to resolve this problem.
Amen. Many of these parents who complain to the school boards continue to deliver their children to the same schools day after day.
Interesting how times have changed. Did parents complain about Judy Blume’s books when they were first published in the 1970’s? I don’t think so.
There were many books we as kids read that might be deemed controversial today. But, at least the teachers weren’t assigning those books to us in class.
