A leading Democrat strategist says his party's woke obsessions with 'veganism and pronouns' has emboldened the GOP to end federal abortion protections.
James Carville - a former advisor to the Clinton administration - said his party is now so in thrall to petty progressive obsessions that its left conservative Supreme Court justices with 'no fear' of ending Roe v Wade.
Appearing on CNN's OutFront, he said: 'Today they [Republicans] have no fear of Democrats, that's why they do this. You gotta' understand what a huge event this is in American politics ... Roe v Wade is is over two-to-one in approval,' Carville told host Erin Burnett Thursday.
'And Alito and them said we don't care. We're not fair, and we don't care and all the Democrats are going to do is sit around talking about veganism and pronouns.'
Carville was referring to Conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, who wrote the draft opinion ending the landmark Roe v Wade abortion ruling that was leaked last Monday. The 'them' he spoke of appeared to be a reference to the other five Supreme Court justices, who enjoy a comfortable supermajority.
Carville went on to say that outrage fueled by the leaked Supreme Court draft last week might not be sufficient to drive voters in Democrat's favor this November.
'I hope that people understand, the Louisiana legislature passed a bill today out of committee that would make a 20-year-old young female - if she wants to get an abortion - charged with homicide,' the political strategist added.
Carville also claimed that the ultra-liberal politics of much of the Democratic party have largely ignored mainstream thinking, which has led the GOP to become far bolder in challenging longstanding liberal social conventions.

The right to own a gun is IN the Constitution yet many states makes it a crime, what do you say about that James?
Side note - In the years before Roe V Wade very few woman were charged with a crime for getting a illegal abortion. I don’t think it would be any difference after Roe v Wade is overturned.

This is incorrect. They are ending Roe v Wade because it is a flawed decision, and the issue of abortion rights should be left to the states.
Carville likes to write his own history to match the Lib line.
Some pundits (for what it’s worth) are saying that by leaking this Roe v Wade draft opinion and making the midterms about abortion, Democrats could energize their base and cancel out our red wave.
Is there any truth to that?
It’s hard for me to believe there are that many Americans, even on the Left, who love abortions so much that they could do that - but what do I know?
