I suspect no Triple Crown this year.
WOW!! What a race!
Way more exciting than usual.
Relatively tight pack with the winner just smoking to the finish.
The winner kept attacking that other horse after the race.
Stunning, come from behind win!

Satisfying, but funny finish!
Tight group of top 3 in the end. Just when it seemed the 2 favorites were doing what they should, longest shot who gets squeezed in yesterday on the card due to scratch, squeaks by them!

GO MAGA!!!!!!
He literally came out of nowhere. Running with the back of the pack, and then...OFF TO THE RACES in the stretch!
Most “fun” Derby in a long time. $30K horse (claiming race price back in October) beats all the “big boys” .... one of the announcers said ‘the horse nobody was talking about wins the Derby’! Fantastic ride by the jockey, too.
For those like myself who missed the race here is the video-—
WOW! What a race!
I’ve never before seen such a speed differential like Rich Strike gaining on and overtaking the field. Well, maybe Secretariat.
Wonder what the best bet was!
He’s my jockey! I’m so proud and happy for him. He has always done an amazing job with my horses. He is a really good guy!
Rich Strike paid $163.60 to win, $74.20 to place and $29.40 to show.
Epicenter paid $7.40 to place and $5.20 to show.
Zandon paid $5.60 to show.
The $2 exacta paid $4,101.20.
The $1 trifecta paid $14,870.70.
The $1 superfecta, with fourth-place finisher Simplification joining the top three, paid $321,500.10.
My Uncle-in-Law rode Seabiscuit a few times. He died a few years ago of a heart attack on his way to go dancing. He was in his late 80’s and had more energy than most people in their 30’s. What a life he had!
I watched that on TV—the first time in my life that I have ever watched a horse race.
This was so thrilling! Best wishes to Rich Strike, his trainers and owner!
In tennis, they call the substitute for a canceled entry a “lucky loser.”
Just shows how tight a race can be, even though while the race plays out it looks as if some horses haven’t a chance.
Somebody made a lot of money.
