They’re interesting places. You have to leave your man-toys at home, though.
I don’t take the AR-50 or 7.62x51/.308 — or anything visible — if I go there. But I have “other places” up in the Poconos to do some exploring, where I take serious protection along.

Not anymore. The federal firearms ban in national parks was repealed in 2010 and now parks follow state rules. The ban on firearms in federally owned/operated building still exists, though, so you can't take them into the gift shop.
