Weird and confusing to think but it would be terrible if Hendrix lived and embraced leftism.. which he was being pulled to do.

Neil Young made some real good music. Can’t listen to a note anymore. Immediate rage.

What a great lesson in song writing.

(Of course it helps to play the guitar like Hendrix...)

Never eat mashed potatoes on LSD. The worms will come out.

I’ve never done drugs, so I will probably never see how mashed potatoes can lead to a hit song.

Released as a single early on, but in the U.S. it was included on the debut Hendrix album ‘Are You Experienced?’, which IMO is the greatest debut album in rock history.

In Britain there was an unwritten policy by some record companies of not including songs that were released as singles prior to an album being finished, so the song wasn’t on ‘Experienced’ in the UK. The Beatles had intended the songs ‘Penny Lane’ and ‘Strawberry Fields’ to be included on ‘Sgt. Peppers’ but they were left off due to the fact they had been released as singles prior to ‘Pepper’ being finished (too bad, the two songs would have made it a much better album).

Electric Ladyland is one of the top 5 rock/pop albums of all time.

And has held up better than most.

Thanks for the surprise look back to the 60s late on a Friday night in 2022. Read the article, listened to the Kathy Mary Etchingham interview, The Wind Cries Mary, and it was 55 years ago. Much has changed, but I know we all still remember.
