I don’t think I’ve ever had my Caprice or Crown Victoria up over 110 mph. Even down hill. Or wanted to. Never was assigned a Mustang or other sports car. Can’t imagine doing 180.
Have done 160 on my hyper sport bikes. Anything above 130 feels very fast. You start worrying about a mosquito laying on its back up ahead and what happens if you hit it... that makes you tone it done again.
My unit was a smooth top Dodge with a 400 in it and it would bury the 150 speedometer.
I had my old MK2 Jag up to 115 on old bias-ply tires on a curvy B-Road in England. Scary.
Current go-fast (if it ran) car’s speedometer goes up to 180mph and I think it would do it under ideal conditions.
I like your taste in cars. (assuming ‘90s or earlier Caprice)
I hear ya. Fastest I’ve ever pushed my T-Bird was 105 on I-95, and only for maybe a second and a half. It had plenty left but I didn’t.
All these years I never knew Larry.
The most I have ever done was about 105 on my Yamaha trying to see how fast a Navy Ground Effects vehicle really was that was paralleling me on the water. The Navy allowed as how those things were capable of 75 mph. At 105 the thing was still leaving me. At 105 I shut it down because I was approaching the far end of a long bridge and a traffic light.
