my F550 Work truck has a speedometer that goes to 140, But its governed to not go past 3000 rpm in 5th gear, about 83 mph.
my 94 explorer’s speedo maxed at 85 and I know I got it past that at least once. real funny watching the needle go past that and point to the floor. Not my smartest idea ever, I blame it on being young and dumb....

There was a Carter era speedometer law that required speedometers to max at 85. Reagan repealed it quickly, but some cars held on longer. You can drive a '94 Explorer at 95 mph.
