There’s no requirement for SCOTUS justices to go to law school, or pass the bar, or pretty much anything. It’s who gets appointed and all political.
Yes, that is true. I suppose I said it that way just because presidents in recent history have picked lawyers. At least that way they could attempt to disguise the political nature of their picks.
