Because nobody would be able to see his perpetually shocked expression over the radio.Wouldn't that be a good thing?
I always tell people, I have a good face for radio.

Rush tried TV and got his rear end handed to him. I remember that. It might well be that the skillsets are too divergent to change from one venue to the other. I dunno.

TV shows — especially on Fox News — are aimed at an audience that is generally uneducated and has an IQ about 25 points lower than a radio audience.
Two great radio hosts who did very poorly on TV were Rush Limbaugh and Dennis Prager. Rush didn’t generate a big audience. Prager seriously damaged his brand by hosting a TV show that was generally a sensationalist, low-brow step down from the intelligence and wisdom he displays on the radio airwaves.

When I lived in Florida decades ago, I voted Democrat. Then I drove back home to CA, a five day drive. The only thing my car radio would pick up on small-town stations was Rush Limbaugh. By the time I got to CA, I was a Republican.
I really like Tucker, but not sure he would have such a powerful effect on me.

Maybe he could, if he took callers, like Rush did? He'd need someone as good as Bo Snerdly screening, of course.
Hannity has a daily three hour radio program, as does Brian Kilmeade.
Dan Bongino has a three hour radio program that airs in the same Noon-3PM Eastern time slot as Rush's old program, and many of Rush's old stations picked Bongino up.
And of course we still have a daily three hour dose of The Great One Mark Levin.
So I guess my question to you is do we really need another three hour radio program from Tucker?

They can’t find someone who could continue Limbaugh’s legacy. Not this namby pamby little left wing butt kisser?Unless you are a purist, Tucker is far from a left-wing butt kisser.... maybe a little namby-pamby, but remember, he DOES own an AR, so... there is that. :)
Tucker definitely gives the left a what-for.

While I really wish Steyn had gotten the gig, I understand why it might not have worked. He isn’t Rush but his own man. He tried working with others to get a big gig going and got burned. He probably had a great time as Rush’s sub but would have a very different show if he had his way. And I know a vocal segment of Freepers wouldn’t like that.
But if Steyn was on the radio, I’d surely listen to him. As often as I could to both Steyn and Michael Berry.

I cannot take Hannity for more than 2 minutes. Levin has a bad radio voice and is a little too establishment for my tastes. Haven’t done any Bongino listening.

I love Mark Steyn on anything foreign policy or Islam related. He's in his game on those topics like Walter Williams or Thomas Sowell were on anything economics or race related.
For instance, back in the early Obamacare days, Mark Steyn pointed out that if they passed the ACA then our elections will be like elections in Canada and the UK in which a huge portion of the political discussion will be how much the next election will impact healthcare for all ages, not just with seniors or abortions. IMHO he did that as a fill-in-host better than others. The same with things like the Rotherham rapefugee scandal in the UK, as well as our borderless border and Steyn's "demographics is destiny" talk. Nobody does those issues better than Steyn.

Steyn is an amazing thinker, but ... he sucked on the radio. He’s amazing in print.

Radio is dying,The only way that becomes true is if self-driving cars become commonplace. Otherwise, the only available entertainment for drivers must be radio. Anything visual would kill.

Rush hosted a midday show that was broadcast at 12:00 noon on the east coast and 3:00 PM in California. That schedule is almost the worst time for a show that is broadcast through a medium (radio) where the business is built around listeners who commute to and from work in a car. Morning and evening “drive time” slots are the prime market for radio.
And yet Rush made it work — tremendously well. He appealed to a non-traditional radio demographic comprised heavily of retirees and people in small businesses who could listen while they worked.
