A female Alabama guard who went missing after escorting a 6ft 9in murder suspect out of jail on Friday has had a warrant put out for her arrest.
Vicky White, 56, has been charged with 'permitting or facilitating an escape in the first degree,' Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said Monday morning.
The Class C felony carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Vicky filed for retirement the day before she broke protocol and said she would take Casey White, 38, to the county courthouse for a mental health evaluation that was never scheduled.
Casey, who is not related to her, was serving a 75-year prison sentence for a string of crimes, but had been transferred from prison to the county jail to face separate capital murder charges, Singleton said.
In 2020, his request to be transferred out of prison was denied after authorities found a makeshift knife stashed in the shower that they believed he intended to use to force someone to let him out.
On Friday, the pair drove directly from the jail to the parking lot of a nearby shopping center, Singleton said.
Vicky's patrol car was found there an hour and a half later - but the guard and inmate are still nowhere to be found, with investigators believing they're both armed as Vicky was carrying her 9mm handgun at the time.
Authorities in the search, which now include the FBI and the Secret Service, are also probing any romantic links between the two which is 'absolutely' a possibility.
Vicky's mother, Pat Davis, says her daughter was living with her after selling her house five weeks ago. Sheriff Singleton says Vicky may be flush with cash from the sale.

Why don't women guard women and men guard men, is that not a way to prevent this?
It is goıng to be hard for thıs fellow to hıde.
Diversity strikes again. Only a woke fool would send out one woman guard with a 6’9” male prisoner held for violent crimes. Idiots deserve this.
“Female prison guards, what could possibly go wrong?”
She was not a guard.

Nobody sent her out.
Because they're not biologists.
Bet he dumps her the moment he feels safe. So,many stories about female guards spillingmgheir, guts to,inmates, thinking the inmate loves them, only to later find out the inmate looks them up,the moment they are free, or they escape, and kill them or attack and rob them.
In prison ministry, they tell the person never to,give out any personal info at all, and warned that the prisoners would try like the Dickenson to get info from people. They warned folks that the prisoners could be very manipulative and sneaky, so be on guard at all times.
Female prison guards in men’s prisons keep falling for inmates for some bizarre reason, and you know they are taught thoroughly to avoid doing so,for, obvious reasons.
“Why don’t women guard women and men guard men, is that not a way to prevent this?”
Guards can’t walk a convicted murderer out the front door!
That’s because they are easily manipulated and made to,feel wanted. Con artists look for easy marks, andmso,go,for, woken with lower self esteme who can be manipulated easier if,they can find them.
After 4 years of going into state prison facilities s a volunteer I’m still scratching my head over the policy of female prison guards directly interacting with inmates.
The ones that do are issued a bottle of mace the size of a small fire extinguisher. It wouldn’t take much however for multiple inmates to overcome that.
Saw at least one similar story on Robert Stack’s Unsolved Mysteries.
UM has its own Pluto channel.
I loved that show but I could never help solve a mystery.
She was a sheriff’s deputy. He was in jail, not prison at the time. The Sheriff is responsible for staffing the jail.
56? At least he didn’t knock her up.
“She was a sheriff’s deputy”
She was Assistant Director of Corrections.
“Vicky’s patrol car was found there an hour and a half later - but the guard and inmate are still nowhere to be found, with investigators believing they’re both armed as Vicky was carrying her 9mm handgun at the time.”
Points to her being a sheriff’s deputy, not a director of anything.
“Points to”
You are really stretching. I will stay with the Sheriff’s statement.
Maybe they’ll kidnap a kid from a business owner and live happily ever after in a trailer near Apache Junction
Ed and HI go on the run...again
