I don’t what to think about Russian strategy after this ridiculous campaign (putting that lightly) in Ukraine. Tactically I think they suck but strategically they have their nukes. Thanks to the Rosenbergs by the way. The fact that Rasputin launched this bonehead war tells me he’s capable of dropping a nuke somewhere just to save his old bloated face.
Im hoping if Putin is inclined to be that stupid that the order would not be carried out.
Russia attempted to copy the US, with an audacious demonstration of "Maneuver Warfare", combined arms and precision strikes akin to the Iraq War. The world was blown away by our lightning fast defeat of Iraq, and a similar performance by the Russian Army would have showed the world that they too, were a "great power". They failed horribly. They are regrouping and going back to what they know, and making slow, painful progress. In the long term, I think Russia is willing to to take the casualties, the damage to their economy and global standing.
