I haven’t watched that video, but I have been saving a several-year old study that describes how eliminating all fiber relieved chronic constipation in those with no apparent cause.
I found it a rather funny thing to read and completely opposite what we have been told, yet, it resolved all their constipation.
She mentions it in the video IIRC. I’ on a near carnivore diet. I probably average a gram a day of fiber. Certainly no constipation. As a rule, I think eating SOME veggies and fruit that isn’t hyper-sweet is a good thing. But I don’t like them and don’t miss them. I can’t imagine eating the recommended 30+ grams of fiber daily.
I also have issues with “low-density lipoprotein (LDL), known as the bad cholesterol”. LDL can be dangerous or can be helpful, depending on what sort of LDL one has. Total cholesterol is another overblown figure.
“High-fiber diets reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. They act by lowering cholesterol ...”
There is a ton of garbage in that statement. The sweet spot for total cholesterol seems to be 200-250...based on total mortality. Doesn’t do much good if one avoids a stroke and is killed by cancer instead. In fact, if I’m going to die, I think I’d prefer a heart attack. But “reducing cholesterol” - by itself - is a meaningless thing to do. Our blood chemistry is way ore complex than that and these simplistic ideas are SOOOO 1960s.
