No doubt half of the country would persist in claiming the opposite of the truth.
I’ve seen this phenomenon a few times when it comes to what a law actually says, and what the government people, Congress in particular (and of course the press) flat out lie what it says. And sometimes the vast majority, 90+%, go right along as though the lie was the truth.
Take the virus origin question a step further. Assume for argument’s sake that the evidence is rock solid. What will be done with that knowledge? What is the point? What is the plan, once a source is known? Badmouth the opponent? That’s it? Or is there more planned?
People are going to believe what they want. Still people believe Trump colluded with the Russians in the 2016 election, and that the Hunter Biden laptop from hell is a fake planted by Trump or Republicans. Flat earthers. What happens when a majority of the public is a flat earther?
