HELLO Neighbor and FRiend!
A toasty 99 degrees and climbing in the sunny desert SW.
Now at the house, waiting on a phone call from the emission repair shop. I am getting both catalytic converters replaced in my truck, so that I may pass an AZ smog test, which will beget me an updated vehicle registration and permit me to be issued a license plate tag. It’s been quite an ordeal.
I personally replaced an EGR valve, two O2 sensors, and an IAT sensor (Intake Air Temperature) to no avail. I also failed two attempts to pass the smog test as both times the sensors were not “ready” and required me to put on about 100 miles twice, in various “drive cycles”.
With my engine light remaining on, I threw in the towel and turned it over to the pros.
Good for Kari Lake and her numbers. Check out the background where she is being interviewed by Peter Navarro... ammunition. Lots and lots of ammunition.
On a personal note, regarding the family- a beloved aunt passed away (one of the last of my late mother’s six siblings) and a cousin’s grown son took his own life in a very sad and selfish act of suicide.
On a bright note, my 21-year-old nephew (my brother’s only child) is due in from the university that he is attending, any minute now, and tomorrow we will be having breakfast with another first cousin’s son, that is here on work assignment from Illinois. He’s 35 (the cousin’s son) and I haven’t seen him since he was about 10-12 years old.
The aforementioned nephew completed helicopter flight instructor certification and has landed a job at the university he attended flight school at, as a flight instructor. This is great news for him and both of his supporting families, and overall- kind of a big deal. Woot! Woot!
To say the least- a lot of moving parts going on around here.
Lastly, I have to drive 12 hours to California, tomorrow, to start my summer job. The new owner and I, and one other key staff member plan on going into the resort on a scouting mission.
There is a good chance that snow will be an issue, as well as fallen trees that have blown down across the road due to high windstorms occurring over the past winter months.
We’ll be taking in chain saws and log chains in order to deal with what we encounter, which is an annual mystery and rite of passage for the “breech” team.

Everyone can do something with regards to the upcoming elections. The RINO’s HAVE to be reformed or replaced. MAGA has to take over the party. Full stop!
So sorry to hear of the death of your family members.
It’s one thing to die at a ripe old age but a very sad day when a young person takes their own life.
Too much of that these days.
Glad you will be making some memories with other family members.
Safe travels to you and hope you don’t find to many downed trees.
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Looks like you have recovered from your injuries.
We need to replace RINO. Not easy.
So sorry for your losses, and, cheers to the successful nephew.
Enjoy your family visit and safe travels, FRiend.
