There will come a time when the US must have Russian oil, and Russia will specify a price for it that cannot be printed by the Fed. They will demand disarmament.
THAT would be the hill to die on. 1.5 Billion is pretty light, actually. You hit refineries and ports and starvation kills more than radiation. Yes, that is the hill to die on.
Not a country 8000 miles away that essentially no one in the US cared about 6 months ago. Mostly what is going on is the DNC commissioned a poll asking how they can reduce damage in the Mid terms. The answer was . . . get the virus off the front page. They jumped on this opportune story.
historically, starting a war for domestic political advantage, or to avoid otherwise unpleasant domestic stuff, is something that has happened over and over.
in this case I think the administration needs the US itself to get hurt pretty bad to get away from the midterms.
Stop right there!
The U.S. is not dependent upon Russian oil. (Of course, we wouldn't cotton to those allies of our who are dependent being deprived, but WE are not dependent.)

“There will come a time when the US must have Russian oil, and Russia will specify a price for it that cannot be printed by the Fed. They will demand disarmament.”
More absurd fictional drama queen noise. The US can produce all the oil and gas we need to be entirely self sufficient. And then there’s production from Canada too.
