Agree. I was born and raised in Bakersfield. I'd take Bakersfield any day over the helhole of Stockton.
Knew a guy that went to college in Stockton (Univ. of Pacific). He had a roommate that came from the Stockton projects and his mom was a prostitute. His father was one of her “John’s” but she didn’t know which one so she named him after all of her “John’s”.
His name was Niger Jones. (Yep, missing a “g” deliberately.)
