What gives with the McCarthy tape?

The newly released tape of the House minority leader suggesting the resignation of President Trump may bespeak a swamp that's more contaminated than any of us can imagine. First, who did the recording? And second, who released it? CNBC reports that Representative Liz Cheney denies leaking the tape of her conversation with Kevin McCarthy.

A spokesperson for Cheney, one of two Republicans on the House select committee probing the Capitol riot, said in a statement Friday morning that the congresswoman "did not record or leak the tape and does not know how the reporters got it."

Rachel Maddow played a portion of the tape in conjunction with a report on the upcoming hit piece on Trump, This Will Not Pass by Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns. They allege that on January 10, 2021, McCarthy talked privately for 45 minutes with Representatives Scalise, Cheney, and Emmer to discuss his thoughts on asking Trump to step down.

McCarthy is caught on tape saying, "This is what I think, we know that it'll pass the House. I think there's a chance it'll pass the Senate, even when he's gone." What does McCarthy mean by that? If Trump were to resign, there wouldn't be much to vote on. He goes on to say, "Now, this is one personal fear I have. I do not want to get in any conversation about Pence pardoning. Again, the only discussion I would have with him is that I think this will pass, and it would be my recommendation you should resign."

This is looking a lot like the tip of an iceberg. Are the phone conversations of members of Congress recorded routinely? Do they know they're being recorded? And why is only this portion of the tape being released? And why now?

When Trump announced, "The party's over; I'm going to clean up Washington," the corrupt politicians and their henchpersons received it as a declaration of war on their privileges, power, wealth, and ability to exploit the decadence of Western Civilization in order to parasitize the American People.

That's exactly what it was.

The war on Trump is the result. They will stop at NOTHING to prevent Trump or anyone else from cleaning up Washington.

The magnitude of their rage is directly proportional to the magnitude of their corruption.

They reveal themselves and the magnitude of their corruption by the rage with which they oppose Trump and his supporters.

Though it is true that there are useful idiots, who themselves are not corrupt but are stupid enough to allow themselves to be hoodwinked by the corrupt, the real opposition to cleaning up Washington--and cleansing America of the decadence that is destroying her--is the corrupt.

When Trump essentially announced that there's a new Sheriff in town and he's going to clean up Dodge, the criminals immediately jumped to the offensive. They didn't just circle the wagons; they aimed to blow up the whole town if that's what it takes to stop him. They're in the process of doing exactly that.

It's the classic battle between good and evil.

It's a war for the soul of America.

The greatest single danger is the useful idiots. They have proven yet again the age-old adage that "a fool is more dangerous than a scoundrel."

Pray that they come to their senses before it's too late.

Good News: Suddenly it matters who the GOP leader in the House is. Nancy will NOT be Speaker anymore. The Dems and the media admit this with every McCarthy hitpiece - the GOP will retake the House next election.

Bad News: We're already divided, backstabbing one another for that speaker's slot. The media will happily keep us fighting one another and help pick our leaders for us.

McCarthy should resign from the House. And the reporters playing political games—either declare themselves partisan hacks and dribble it out or be reporters and report and release what they have. Once it is all out, hopefully come January we can see truly new leadership in the House.

Trump made several mistakes that day:

1) Held rally on same day as the vote and Dems took advantage of that fact to infiltrate the rally and get people to head to the capital and turn it into a “mob rally”. Optics is everything. He should have held a rally when Capital was closed. The people being held on charges most likely wouldn’t be in jail or waiting to be sentenced or charged if that had been done.

2) He took way too long to make a speech about what was happening and not condoning it.

I think you needn't go further than, “Who taped it”. That's the biggest issue. I'm grateful McCarthy is being outed but if recording calls is happening in D.C., you and I are most certainly being recorded. This takes me back to Mad Max Waters and her “Big Obama Computer” with everything about everyone on it.

Imo it will be used by the GOP as a reason to not allow DJT to appear on Republican primary ballots.
The Republican party hierarchy did not want him to be the GOP nominee in '16 and neither party wanted him to be POTUS....well, the voters threw the monkey wrench into that. Fast forward to 2020 and we see a successful bi-partisan operation to take the will of the voters out of the equation.
Gonna be tough to pull that off again, so why take a chance? Won't have to if he is not the nominee and what better way to assure that than to keep him off the ballot in state primaries. THAT shouldn't be too difficult what with so many Republicans calling 1/6 an "insurrection" and now this audio.

I believe the effort to keep MTG off the ballot in Georgia by a court labeling her an insurrectionist using the 14th Amendment is a trial run.

If the Georgia courts rules she’s ineligible to hold federal office due to the 14th Amendment’s section blocking those who participated in insurrection against the US Government from holding federal office and succeeds in keeping her off the ballot, you can bet the DemoncRats (with RINO help behind the scenes), will file lawsuits in all 50 states and territories asking each state/territorial court to block Trump from appearing on the 2024 and future ballots using the 14th amendment section on insurrection.

The real question here is what were Scalise and McCarthy doing talking to Cheney about this in the first place, and why was she -- a well known Bush/Cheney Never Trumper Neocon (Rand Paul went after her for it in Sept. 2019) -- appointed Chair of the House Republican Conference in 2019?

It was never about Jan 6 -- that was just an excuse by the Neocon rePubbie leadership to keep Trump out of office lest he end the Endless Wars.

So let’s pretend McCarthy and Lizzy are telling the truth and neither recorded and leaked the recording. Were they on congressional office landlines? Then Pelosi or Mitch tapped and recorded and leaked them. If they were on a cell phone then their provider recorded and leaked them. If this is not elevated to the scandal that it is then we know the country is truly finished. It is finished regardless but I thought at least a generation until the illegals get amnesty and their grappling hook babies are old enough to vote for generational free stuff.
