Back in my days of working loss prevention at a retail store it was not unusual to inform a parent that a small child was pocketing items. Many times they would ask us to “give the kid a talking to.” These days they would more likely sue the store.
In the old, old days, they’d have your parents come get you and you’d face far harsher results.
