How much taxpayer money is being spent to fly drones around mars?

If they scrubbed the relatively pointless human space missions they could have sent hundreds or thousands of probes and drones around every planet in the Solar System.

We might know if Titan (under its icy covering) was habitable.

And why even do probes and drones? Technology advances, jobs for engineers and scientists, lessons learned can be transferred to the military to keep us ahead of our adversaries, etc.

How much taxpayer money is being spent to fly drones around mars?

The number out there for the pricetag of Ingenuity is $85 mil.

Why?

It's one of those mysteries of life you just have to take on faith:
