Yes, we are becoming the Soviet Union. We are told we will soon be facing food shortages. I guess we will line up for blocks to buy a couple of rancid potatoes as in the glory days of the Soviet Union.
We are actually WORSE than the Soviet Union. The Soviets would summarily shoot thieves and murderers we are allowing to run wild in American cities today.
Actually at the beginning of Covid, my local Harris Teeter had a lot of empty shelf space, including toilet paper and alcohol (hand cleaning). I got the last 2 bottles. I wanted to load up on pasta, but most of it was gone. Fortunately, there was still whole grain pasta on the shelves which is what I preferred. We will NOT starve, but may have some limited choices, which are caused by supply chain problems which are not particularly caused by the government, which fortunately unlike in Russia does not try to micro manage the economy of products.
