"Eleanor Rigby", is one of those love/hate songs by The Beatles.
You tell a person, that you like it, the other person says they hate it.

I’ve always liked Eleanor Rigby. How McCartney thought up those lyrics is mind boggling.

Rubber Soul was released in 1966, 56 years ago. Not 50.

Like John and Paul both claimed to have written it. It is one of two (?) I believe they ‘disagreed’ on. Or as George Martin once said, it was a John kind of song, and inspiration counts, right ?

Incredibly beautiful and haunting song,,,certainly a unique song for the time. It has aged so well, as a lot of the Beatles music has done.

Questions a 7 year-old couldn't begin to answer, but ponder anyway because it was The Beatles who made you think about it.

Went to see the NEW Beatle movie when it came out.
I didn’t know that it was a CARTOON! I left shortly after.
