Bluebonnets are my wife's (and my) favorite flower1
Almost exactly 62 years ago -- the morning after I asked her to marry me -- we drove up on Chalk Mountain, west of Glen Rose. On top there's a lovely little Texas Roadside Park overlooking the nearby hills and valleys, with a marvelous vista -- all the way to Comanche Peak, in the distance.
Surrounding the park, and in a big field actoss US 67, there was an almost continuous carpet of Bluebonnets -- nicely sprinkled with Indian Paintbrushes.
No telling how long we stood there -- enraptured by the view -- and each other... That was a weekend we'll never forget!!
Bless you for providing the background for this year's Mother's Day card!!
