Shipping Industry Anon here. I run logistics on arrivals and departures of vessels coming into port from Asiatic origin and align the schedule with South American vessels. This is all I can share without self-doxxing for safety. I lurk here on this board often when bored, but this seems worthy of a post.
There is a massive shipping halt outside of China, and it is creating a backlog of planned arrivals, of which affect not only South America but Europe and Africa. The thing is, this is a huge moment for agricultural cargo and an even bigger one for common trade. Summer in the west is arriving soon, and that is when China takes advantage of American consumerism. This is unique in that it seems China is willing to sacrifice that GDP for something my colleagues are finding to be possibly sinister.
As far as we can notice and tell, China has been stocking up MASSIVE warehouses of food. When I say massive, I mean there are stadium-sized warehouses with boxes of non-perishables to the roof. There are over two hundred of these warehouses dotted across mainland China.
What we’re NOT seeing, however, is absolutely anything that has to do with raw material. Common deviation from the norm kind of changes aren’t occurring, which is either coincidence or they are purposefully hiding a huge transfer of materials and raw materials like ore and chemical elements.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d take an educated guess to say that China is preparing for some massive war or something along those lines.
