That’s a good idea. I assume a Faraday bag wouldn’t allow me to use it from inside the bag, and taking it outside the bag to use it would start the tracking again, so I may as well leave it at home if I don’t want to be tracked. Outside my home, I use my phone for texting, the occasional phone call, keeping shopping lists, and taking photos. I can go back to paper lists, wait to communicate with others, and the weird things I see will just have to remain undocumented.

What, you don’t have a digital camera? My old trusty Canon PowerShot SD600 (made in Japan) fits easily in a pocket or a corner of my fanny pack, and takes better pictures than most cell phones do.

Your phone automatically broadcasts a serial number that allows tracking.

To se it type *#06# into your cell phone keyboard and press ENTER

It will show your phone unique identifier.
