An interesting theory, although the absolute sheer brutality of the murder makes me think it was a romantic relationship gone awry. Also, his profile doesn't make me think he'd travel in circles where he could find a hitman, but who knows?

Either way, you really never know what goes on behind closed doors, and in this day and age, it's usually fairly sordid.
