BCS has emerged from the shadow of maybe the greatest show ever to become its own phenomena. And it's had to do this, while staying in the established framework of Breaking Bad.
It's also introduced its own set of characters, and expanded on characters that we already know--or thought we did.
Telling it's story in flashbacks and flash-forwards (or flash-present day ... we're not sure how long "Gene" has been working at that Cinnabon). BCS is a much more complex show than BB.
Good points. We are living in the greatest era of television yet, with the defining innovation of many shows having first class writers in charge as creators and show runners. With intense competition, lots of cash for production, a wide range of outlets, and all the elements of production, from acting to set design and makeup and other crafts mature and at a high level of quality, the result is extraordinarily good popular entertainment.
