“Almost everybody associated with Elizabeth Montgomery on that show was gay or lesbian.”
I always considered Elizabeth Montgomery one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood back in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Almost Grace Kelly-like.
Today, there’d never be Bewitched.
Today, she’d trigger more than Mrs. Kravitz for being a witch.
Today, she’d trigger atheists.
Seems to be a lot of accusations flying around by a bunch of amateur biologist tonight her on FR
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnes_Moorehead#Sexuality
Looks like you got that from her Wikipedia entry. But also on that entry:
“Moorehead’s close friend Debbie Reynolds stated categorically that Moorehead was not a lesbian. Reynolds’s autobiography mentions the rumor and states it was started “maliciously” by one of Moorehead’s husbands during their divorce.[20] Moorehead’s longtime friend and producer Paul Gregory concurs in the assessment. Quint Benedetti, Moorehead’s longtime employee who was homosexual, also stated that Moorehead was not a lesbian and attributed the story to Paul Lynde’s frequent gossiping and rumor-mongering.[21]”
I hate to tell you this but Debbie Reynolds confessed to many lesbian affairs and one of them was with Agnes Moorhead. The denial you cite was to protect Debbie not Agnes.
Does it really matter? Not really.
“Agnes Moorehead played Margot Lane, Lamont Cranston’s love interest”
I’ve heard a few of those shows, I’m sure I’ve heard her on that! We used to listen to the Sirius old time radio channel a lot. My fave is Johnny Dollar, but I must say The Jack Benny show really holds up.
The Shadow was good, but at least on the Sirius platform, the audio quality of that show was very poor.
Only to the Pharisees who take pride in their superior piety.
“That’s Steve Reeves”
“No, that’s Agnes Moorehead”
Agnes Moorhead was interred in the Abbey Mausoleum located in Dayton’s historic Memorial Park Cemetery.. That’s close to home.
RIP.
Some of my favorite roles:
Endora (of course) from Bewitched
Woman - Twilight Zone
The Bat - w/ Vincent Price
So we agree. It doesn’t really matter.
Debbie Reynolds was no shrinking violet, I’ll take her word on this.
“Victor Buono”
Gay or not, I’ve always thought that one of the most disappointing “might have beens” is the fact that Buono did not live long enough to play Nero Wolfe. I think he was THE ONE, and it just did not happen on our timeline!
In Hollywood Agnes Moorehead was known as ‘’The lesbians lesbian’’.

Yeah, I could see him playing Nero Wolfe.
