What a beautiful voice, and a tragic death.

I didn't know until the VH1 movie about the Carpenters, that she was a drummer

RIP Karen.

That may have been the documentary I saw about her on You Tube. It was well done.

Carpenters were my first college concert.

Yes, Karen drummed some.

This song is one of my favorites along with goodbye to love.

My first concert also. Civic Arena in Pittsburgh circa 1972.

I’ve always loved The Carpenters. They were my first concert, at the tender age of 16, summer 1972, the Budokan-Tokyo, Japan.

Talented, gifted, beautiful voice. So young. So sad.

My parents used to listen to the Carpenters. I was a hard rock/heavy metal guy back in the 80s, so I kept the fact that I liked their music well hidden.

British guitarist analyses Karen Carpenter youtube says her voice was incredibly accurate, live or in studio. He or one of the comments notes that they tried adding a second track of her voice with a slight delay. They couldn’t do it because the waves cancelled each other, they matched so well.

I remember “easy listening” radio stations which only existed because of The Carpenters.

Kind of strange

How people are drawn to such distinct different music forms within popular music

I could dig pop

Grass roots

Paul revere

Tommy James even the Cowsils

I was 13 in 1970

But carpenters

My mom liked

Good voice no question

My sis had Carpenter and Manilow posters up all over her room in the ‘70s.

Karen did have a great voice.

“Good voice no question”

A friend of mine was in the Long Beach State choir with Karen Carpenter. Both had 3 octave range. In fact I think my friend could actually sing 4 octaves. A great voice but not interested in pop music. She went on to a career as a choir director.
